Reason you’re interested in observing it

I am interested to get a feel for it and the time works for me too
I am interested in rock which is related to my major.
I am interested in this field because it is related to my major and I want to learn more about it.

1. How did you feel about your discussion experience?  What did you enjoy and what was difficult?

It was a good experience and I enjoyed very much. The difficult thing I found when I tried to understand the other people because of their accents.

2. Which letter from #5 on page 1 of the worksheet was hardest to decide in your group? Why do you think it was the hardest?

a: "most possible for me to do in the same situation" -> "least possible"
b: "most likely to be remembered in the future" --> "least likely"
c: "most affected/changed by their experience" --> "least affected"
d: "most courageous" --> "least courageous"
I will choose d because it is the hardest one. Some others have different views about topics.

3. Was it easy or difficult to come to agreements with your groups?  What made it easy and what made it challenging?

It  gets easy sometimes and sometimes difficult. It made it easy when most of us agrees. However, it made it challenging when we don't agree especially letter d because each of us has different views for the most/least courageous.

4. Were you happy with your group’s definition of courage?  What would you like to change, if anything?

We were satisfied with the definition and we all reached into agreement.

4 questions

1. Do you think humans will need to move to another planet?  Why or why not?

I believe that they do not need to move to another planet as long we have all the necessity to be alive like water, air to breath and food.

2. If it does happen that some humans move to another planet, would
you volunteer to go?  Why or why not?

No, I would not because it is very dangerous and risky to go to another planet.

3.  Read this article about people who have signed up to move to Mars: http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/09/tech/innovation/mars-one-applications/index.html  What is your reaction to this story?

It is very interesting story that people want to go to Mars and live there, but it is very risky because you won't come back to Earth and there aren't enough requirements that the humans need to live. If I were those people, I wouldn't do that because  I have all I need to be alive on Earth.

4. What do you think Ray Bradbury wanted the readers of "All Summer in a Day" to understand?  What did you think after reading this story?

I think what he is trying to say that there is no such a planet like Earth. I definitely agree with him because I cannot imagine to go to another planet which is risky or not safe. I won't go because Earth is my home and there is no doubt about it.

Introducation about myself

Hi, 4B Reading!

My name is Haidar Essam Almazeedi and  I'm so happy to start for the blog. This is my first time to have this wonderful blog, and I am looking forward to see all your posts.

I am 19 years old. I was born in Al-surra, Kuwait, and I have 4 siblings, 1 brother and 3 sisters. My father has retired form engineering field, while my mother has retired from teaching field. I have graduated from high school last year and my major is Petroleum Engineering. I decided to study abroad to depend on myself and to have more experience about other cultures. I have been accepted at Penn State University in PA, and I did not want to miss this opportunity. Consequently, I decided to go there and my government sponsored my education.

I have an apartment in state college which is very near to the university. I share it with my roommate. My hobbies are playing soccer, table tennis, bowling, snooker and video games. I usually play soccer on weekends with my friends either in Kuwait or in US. I joined for the IECP for two reasons: to have an English Proficiency to attend the university and to have more and more experience for other cultures. I love the life here and the people are very nice. I am more than happy to get to know you better.
